148: Health Hiatus

Dear Friends,
It's been a while since my last post.
Nearly six months, in fact.

Where'd you go?

I had a sudden health crisis in April.
And spent a month in the hospital.

In July, I went back for a major (planned) surgery.

Luckily, the surgery went well.
And I am safely back at home.

Lately I've been focused on family, healing, and outpatient rehab.

As a result, The Fire Jar has largely been on the backburner.

But I'm finally feeling ready to show up in this space again.

I've missed this creative practice, the ritual, and the connections.

I may share additional details later.

For now, know that I'm deeply grateful for community support, acutely aware of mortality, and reflecting on some of my own previous wisdom.

As part of this journey, I plan to revisit my own (excellent) advice :

096: Self-states
We inhabit many roles and personas.
043: Caregivers
Breaking things is easy. Repairing is harder.
136: Movement Framework
A simple model for exercise / fitness.
035: Plant Care
Are you taking care of your plants?
078: Mind Palace
The Method of Loci (aka Memory Palace).
027: Life is a Jumble
The stories we tell are the ones we believe.
073: Pain vs. Suffering
How are pain and suffering different?
038: Cats and Toast
Exploring the buttered cat paradox.
147: Fear vs Confidence Loops
Two powerful reinforcing cycles.

The margins in life are small.

I am grateful to be alive.
